AVCon Anime and Gaming Festival at the Adelaide Showground is Adelaide’s all ages celebration of anime and gaming, designed for fans, families, first timers and long time attendees alike. Across one huge weekend, you can explore pop culture shopping, watch and join in activities, and spend the day your way. Whether you are coming for cosplay, gaming, artists, panels, or the atmosphere, AVCon is welcoming, inclusive, and easy to enjoy at your own pace.

AVCon brings together fans, creators and community in one huge space. Browse a wide range of vendors and discover artists and makers, from prints and handmade items to collectibles and gifts. Enjoy stage events and screenings, then drop into panels and workshops to learn new skills, hear from guests, and connect with online creators and fellow fans. Gaming is central to the experience, with unlimited free play across console, PC, VR, arcade, tournaments and an indie game showcase, plus tabletop including card games, board games, war gaming and RPG sessions. A dedicated kids’ area is also available.

Programming runs across the AVCon weekend and includes both scheduled sessions and activities you can join at any time. Expect a full day of things to see and do, with opportunities to shop, watch stage content, take cosplay photos, and rotate between panels, workshops and game areas as you like. A detailed timetable, including any special guests, competitions and session times, will be published closer to the event once confirmed. If you are 18+, you can also stick around Saturday night for AVCon After Dark, a separately ticketed adults only event.
