About this Event

Oh no! The drinks are out!

Ava & Mae are great at solving problems. When the drinks run out at the Summer Start Fair, they have a brilliant idea: a Lemonade Stand!

But Wait- they’ve never owned a lemonade stand before!

Learn with Ava & Mae as they negotiate, land business deals, and invest in their very first business.

This book is great for curious and creative kids aged 9 and under.

Brittney Dias and Iman Purnell use humor, surprises, and playful illustrations to inspire children to follow their dreams.

Brittney Dias is joining us on the Busboys stage to read from a great children’s book for curious and creative scholars aged 9- under. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during and after the event, and Dias will be signing following the program.

This event is free and open to all. Our program begins at 6:00 pm, and will be followed by an audience Q&A. Copies of AVE & MAE OWN A LEMONADE STAND will be available for purchase before and after the event. Please note that this event is IN PERSON and will NOT be livestreamed.

We ask that guests RSVP in order to receive direct updates about the event from Busboys and Poets Books

She has experience in research, start-up spaces, and DE&I strategy. In 2021 she co-founded Looking Lens, a company that creates stories that empower and inspire Black & Brown children. The Ava & Mae series is her first published work. Brittney creates online content under @booksbybrittd where she documents her experience as an entrepreneur.
