A conversation with David Beasley (Former Director of the World Food Programme and Nobel Laureate) on conflict and global food security.
About this Event

Please join Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Tuesday, April 30, at 1:00pm (EST) to hear from David Beasley about the linkages between conflict and food security and the role of food security in peacebuilding.

Mr. Beasley is the former Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, which received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020 for its "efforts to combat hunger, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict.”

The talk will be held at the JHU Bloomberg Center, 555 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington DC 20001 in the Link (Room 426). Light refreshments will be provided.
