About this Event
Join us for a relaxed, beginner-friendly autumn vegetable gardening workshop focused on getting started the organic way. The session begins with a 30-minute illustrated talk covering the basics of setting up a productive veggie garden, including soil health, composting, seeds, mulch and simple organic principles. There will be plenty of hands-on items to explore, such as potting mix, garden soil, compost, worm tea, seeds, mulch and herbs, to help bring the concepts to life.
After a break for a cuppa and a bikkie, we’ll open up for question time, giving participants the chance to dig deeper into topics that interest them most. Each attendee will receive helpful take-home resources, including a spring/summer planting guide with companion planting and feeding tips, a “pests and guests” guide to identifying beneficial and pest insects, a beginner seed pack, and a small potted herb or flower to get your garden growing straight away. Perfect for anyone new to veggie gardening or looking to build confidence and knowledge.
