About this Event

Celebrate World of Cultures at Botany Library!
For ages 12+ (adult supervision required for under 14s) | All levels welcomed, No experience needed

Discover Nakshi Kantha, a traditional Bengali embroidery from Bangladesh and neighbouring regions of West Bengal, Tripura, and Assam. Made using recycled cloth, it has long been a way for people to gather, stitch, and share stories. In this hands-on session, you’ll receive fabric and thread to create simple motifs inspired by your culture, identity, or experiences. As we stitch, we’ll sip tea, chat and connect, exploring how embroidery can carry meaning across time and place.
