The Community of Practice: Deepening in Mindfulness and Compassion is a supportive environment in which to nurture your mindfulness and compassion skills development guided by a registered professional mindfulness teacher who is also a clinical health psychologist.

About this event
The Community of Practice: Deepening Your Practice in Mindfulness & Compassion group is an experiential mindfulness and compassion group for anyone who wishes to explore mindfulness and compassion skills in a supportive community. This practice sessions intend to help you prevent burnout in your work and to support you in responding to life whole-heartedly a continually changing and challenging world.
Community of Practice may be particularly helpful for those wanting to deepen their mindfulness and compassion practice and apply what they have learned in prior 8 week courses to challenges in their lives.
Who Should Attend
Participants who have been introduced to mindfulness through an app or online course and wish to deepen their practice and integration of mindfulness into their everyday life.
When:
First Friday of the Month September 2024 to May 2025 - separate tickets for each session. Tickets will be available one month prior to event.
Cost:
$40 plus HST per session – register on Eventbrite here
First class fee includes access to the free ORIMH online community and a private circle of practice community online.

Your Teacher:
Dr Kimberly Sogge PhD CPsych is a registered clinical health psychologist and certified mindfulness and compassion teacher (IMTA, CMSC) with 18 years of dedicated experience as a practitioner of insight, compassion and nature-based meditation. She has had the benefit of skilled in person practice, training and mentoring from esteemed secular meditation teachers such as Jon Kabat Zinn, Kristin Neff, and Mark Coleman as well as with monastics and lay teachers from both Theravada and Mahayana Buddhist traditions. Kimberly combines her lived experience of personal transformation through meditation and contemplative practice in nature with 30+ years of training and experience as a psychotherapist and psychologist. She draws from trauma-informed, somatic, internal family systems, compassion focused, and contextual behavioral science perspectives to create containers for re-alignment, transformation and renewed love for self and the living world in her courses and retreats. She specializes in work with burnout and stress in high performers, specifically physicians, and welcomes all who suffer from perfectionism and control to find liberation and compassionate self leadership.
