Way for Women invites you to join us for ‘Authenticity and self-image: self-doubt to self-made’ 💃💪 - a community story-telling time event taking place in Liberty Cafe on Saturday, April 25th at 3pm!
It is common knowledge that fashion plays an important role in many women’s lives. We are continuously inspired by icons, such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly or Coco Chanel 👠 - they make us feel beautiful, stylish and empowered! Ever heard the phrase ‘dress for success” ? So you know what we’re talking about! But did you know that Coco Chanel had to wait until late in her 50s in order to achieve the true success that she’d dreamt about her whole life? It just goes to show it’s never too late to believe in your dreams and pursue your passion as a career!
During this event, our community member, Madhuri, who owns a jewelry store, The Baroque 💎, will take us on a journey starting with her growing up in India, becoming the youngest team lead in an international IT company at just 25 years old, to finally quitting an extremely successful career to focus on her true passion - jewelry. And not just any jewelry - meticulously handmade, original pieces inspired by Indian culture! Madhuri’s presentation will show us how to use fashion as a tool of self-expression rather than a way to impress others. She will also share her experience on how to pluck up the courage to become the entrepreneur you know you can be!
After the presentation and a short coffee break, we will be divided into small groups for thoughtful, inspiring conversations centered around self-image, self-expression, fashion and entrepreneurship.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
➤ discuss how you view and utilize fashion in your daily life as a tool of empowerment
➤ talk about how you express your authenticity and curate your self-image to feel inspired and empowered
➤ share and listen to inspiring stories of overcoming self-doubt and betting on yourself
➤ win a unique piece of jewelry chosen especially for this event!
