Jazz, the equivalent of authenticity. Discover more of yourself through movement, while emerging in a cultural experience deeply rooted in Afro-American history. We will cover basics like music, groove, steps and body awareness and we will top it up with complex transitions, rhythms and faster tempo’s. We start from the beginning and move through the layers during the day, each class will introduce new layers of challenge. You are welcome to go as far as you want on this journey!
10.30 - 11.30 Lab1: groove, feeling and vocabulary
11.30 - 12.30 Lab2: transitions, fun choreo and expansion of vocabulary
12.30 - 13.30 Lab3: you know you vocabulary and are ready for a challenge with rhythm, music and body awareness
13.30 - 14.00 Lunch Break
14.00 - 15.00 Lab4: let’s kick it up with some fancy steps and faster tempo’s
15.00 - 16.00 Lab5: steps are fun, but can apply them on the go and improvise like a pro? We will use a choreo as the base for our improv and we will play a few games that uplift our improv to a new dimension
