Auditions for TBA Theatre’s Once Upon a MattressFebruary 27th and March 1st

Auditions will be split into two parts: Singing and Dance. Please come to your designated timeslot with approx 60-90 seconds of music with a backing track. Vocal selection should be an up-tempo musical theatre number. We will be teaching a dance to all auditioners.

Many moons ago in a far off place, Queen Aggravain decreed no couples could marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, found a bride. Princesses came from far and wide to win the hand of the prince, but none could pass the impossible tests given to them by the Queen. That is, until the “shy” swamp princess, Winnifred, showed up.
Will she be able to pass the Sensitivity Test, marry her prince and help Lady Larkin and Sir Harry to the altar? Carried on the tune of wonderful songs, at times hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the classic tale The Princess and the Pea provides some side-splitting shenanigans. For after all, a princess is a “delicate” thing.

REQUIRED DATES AND TIMES:
Performance Dates: May 8-17
• Technical rehearsals start on Sunday, May 3rd at APU Grant Hall. Conflicts are not accepted the entire week of May 3-7. Lead Roles will need to be available the entire week of April 27-May 1
• Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7p, Sundays at 3p • School Matinees Performances on May 14 and 15
• Mandatory strike & load out after the show on Sunday, May 17
• Call times for performances are 2 hours before show time.
• Rehearsals are generally Monday-Friday from 6pm-9pm with some Saturdays & Sundays.
• All performances & tech rehearsals take place at the APU Grant Hall
