Victoria Keddie is an artist who works with sound beyond structured language, exploring the instability of communication through error, interference, and the residual artifacts of transmission. Her work examines disruption, ambiguity, and noise as active sites of meaning-making, analyzing how language fractures and redefines itself through technological mediation and sonic fragmentation. For over a decade, Keddie served as Co-director of E.S.P. TV, exploring the televisual medium for performance.
Nour Sokhon is a Lebanese artist based between Beirut, Lebanon and Berlin, Germany.
Her creative practice is centered around exploring different methods of working with artistic research including interview material, field recordings and recorded material from an organized site specific intervention. The research is then translated into sound/music compositions, performances, interactive installations and moving image work. Her ongoing research has led her to conclude that sound is one of the most powerful mediums which can be used to transport the viewers into a realm of abstractness, due to the fact that it is time-based and it is not restricted by a visual frame. The fluid nature of sound, its intense power in triggering emotions and proven role in memory recollection, such as treating people with Alzheimers has pushed her to use sound as a tool in her creative process. Hence, she seeks to combine sound with different forms and mediums according to her modes of inspiration, often triggered by her surrounding environment.
