About this Event
At this event, we will be asking Chicago-based growers to share their experiences--their successes, their difficulties--with water access, a fundamental yet elsusive and expensive resource.
Key subject areas include:
- Hydrant Use Permits and custodian caps
- Service lines and rates
We'll be talking about what policies affect growers, compare water access in Chicago to water access in other cities, and game plan solutions that benefit growers.
Aligned efforts will support the Chicago Urban Agriculture Plan, with which we endeavor to shift policy in the City of Chicago to be more supportive of individuals, organizations, and businesses growing food, medicine, flowers, and other pollinator habitats within the city; identify challenges within departments of the City of Chicago and sister agencies to better serve growers; and encourage improved resources from public and private entities to help growers grow.
