Skill Level Info:
Skill level (SL) is based on the highest of (a) Fargo with 200+ robustness converted to Atomic SL, (b) recent, established (10+ matches within-format in the past year) APA 8 ball SL, or (c) recent, established APA 9 ball SL. The lowest Atomic singles skill level is 3.
Fargo (with 200+ robustness) to Atomic Conversions for Singles Tournaments:
Less than 350 = 3
350 to 399 = 4
400 to 449 = 5
450 to 499 = 6
500 to 549 = 7
550 to 599 = 8
600 to 649 = 9
650 or more = sorry!
If the player doesn’t have a recent, established APA SL or a robust FargoRate, then the tournament directors will determine the SL, erring on the high side. The tournament directors will base that SL on relevant information, e.g., APA SL with less than 10 games played recently, preliminary FargoRate, the pre-existing knowledge of a disinterested party who the directors trust, etc. With no reliable background information, a player will start as a 6 in singles (7 in doubles). If mid-tournament it becomes clear that a player should have a higher SL, the tournament directors may increase the SL between matches.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
