Atlanta Photographers Meetup - Business Operations Talk

If you're a working professional photographer in Atlanta, or aspire to be one please join us for the Atlanta Professional Photographers Meetup. This is a casual networking event co-presented by the Atlanta School of Photography. Drink some tea, talk shop, and discuss business.

Give your business a good Spring cleaning. April is a great time to review your business practices, clean the clutter, refocus your opperations, and move forward with purpose.

Meet other photographers, find ways to collaborate, and get to know each other better. Discuss photography issues in Atlanta and beyond, talk about emerging trends we're seeing, trade information about marketing and promotion, business administration and taxes, location scouting, and a lot more.

It's my strong belief that we're better together. What does that mean? For me it means that we can learn from each other, support each other, and help move the local photography industry forward for the benefit of all Atlanta photographers.

We're meeting up monthly. They give us a chance to get to know each other, find ways to collaborate, and build a strong community of photographers.

Additionally, please reach out to suggest dates or locations that work better for you for our next meetup. Plus, this is something I'm interested in sharing ownership of. Therefore, if you want to organize a meetup, for coffee, a photography session, or anything else let me know. I'm happy to share the info and promote it.

I wish these meetups could be free. However, whenever it we offered free tickets (limited by the size of our venues) they're reserved by people who don't show up. In fact, some people registered for 5 or more tickets (seemingly with no intention of attending). Therefore, we've added a small ticket fee in order to get accurate counts for the hosting venue and to ensure availability for those who are actually going to attend. Thank you for understanding!

Let me know if you have venue ideas. Finding coffee shops or other locations that can accomidate a group that can be as small as 3 of us or as large as 20 isn't easy. If you've got a studio and want to host that would be great but even if you've just got some other ideas of where we can meet I'd love to hear them.

Back in Pittsburgh I created a website and directory of photographers that was publicly accessible. This allowed everyone to have a leg up on predatory websites like Thumbtack or Yelp which often show up in the top results. I'd love to collaborate with others who might be interested in doing this same thing here in Atlanta.
