Come and join us in making a beautiful and functional asymmetric willow basket, suitable as a utensil holder, storage basket or just as a decorative interior!Working with a solid birch plywood base (to ensure that we can finish in a day), you will learn how to attach and secure your side stakes, weave a 3-rod wale at the base, followed by a French rand for the sides. You will then learn how to lay an asymmetric border, finished beautifully with a rustic wooden handle.
We will share a simple vegetarian lunch and the pleasure of each other’s company as we weave ☺️.
While this workshop is suitable for beginners, working with willow can be hard on the hands and does require a good level of hand strength and dexterity. Most people find the day intense but very rewarding. Come prepared to work hard and you will be so proud of what you can achieve in a day.
