About this Event
TWO DAY WORKSHOP- May 13th & 14th from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm at the Lochiel Kiwanis Community Center in the Kiwanis Room.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a globally recognized, two-day interactive workshop designed to build confidence and competence in suicide intervention. This training helps participants learn how to identify individuals who may be thinking about suicide, engage in supportive and direct conversations, and develop a safety plan that connects them to further help.
Through guided discussions, simulations, and practical exercises, participants will gain hands-on experience in providing life-assisting support in real-time situations. ASIST is suitable for anyone in a helping role—whether in healthcare, education, social services, or community settings—as well as staff who may encounter individuals in distress through their work.
This training is facilitated by certified ASIST trainers and follows LivingWorks’ evidence-based model. Upon completion, participants will receive an ASIST certificate.
Please note: This training is being offered to invited staff and community partners only and is not open to the general public.
