Spend a relaxed and immersive day exploring traditional embroidery techniques inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement. Led by designer and embroiderer Anita Harrison, this workshop combines crewelwork and introductory goldwork to create a richly textured floral design.Working on fine linen with UK-sourced Appletons 2-ply crewel wool, you will learn how carefully chosen stitches can blend colour, build texture and bring depth to your embroidery. Subtle goldwork threads — including some handmade metal threads — are then introduced to enhance and elevate the finished piece.
The workshop is suitable for embroiderers of mixed ability, particularly those who already have a little experience and would like to build confidence, consistency and technique. Stitches are repeated throughout the design, giving you time to practise and refine your skills while working towards a beautiful completed motif measuring approximately 15 × 15 cm.
All materials are provided as part of a comprehensive kit, allowing you to focus fully on the making process in the calm and historic setting of Abbey House.
