Hikaru Dorodango offers a meditative journey through the art of making
This workshop provides a multi-sensory experience, incorporating sound and scent elements alongside clay work, all aimed at fostering a sense of renewal and grounding for participants. Attendees will be guided to select a handful of clay, settle at the work surface, and free their minds of distractions. They'll then engage in the tactile task of moulding a clay ball between their palms, pressing, rolling and shaping it.
Through slowing down and engaging with this seemingly simple process, everyday actions are transformed into moments of meditation and transcendence. As each participant completes their sphere, the invitation is to add it to the table, contributing to an organic arrangement that carries the essence of every individual involved. Makers will be invited to select a coloured pigment which Karen will add later when dry then seal it also, so the piece may later be collected and kept as a reminder of the experience.
