Let the Good Times Grow: the unmistakable aesthetic of 1960s and 1970s floral home décor.
Kelly's new collection of paintings, "Let the Good Times Grow ,"is inspired by the unmistakable aesthetic of 1960s and 1970s floral home décor. Prepare for a feast of color as you explore this deliciously retro collection of paintings.
This collection of paintings celebrates the era's maximalist sensibility, focusing on two seemingly different but deeply connected icons of the mid-century domestic life: the bold, stylized floral patterns that adorned wallpaper and upholstery, and the colorful casserole dishes that were the centerpiece of every potluck. Psychedelic poppies, oversized daisies, and intricate floral motifs make for explosive compositions where pattern overtakes form, rendered in a palette of vibrant hues. More than a journey through color, the exhibit is an endearing look at the art of homemaking and the objects that defined an optimistic, colorful and highly patterned moment in time.
