Learn how to photograph your artwork with clarity, covering lighting, setup, and editing for clean, consistent images.
About this Event

This professional development workshop offers artists practical tools for photographing their work with clarity and consistency.

The session covers essential techniques for documenting both two-dimensional artwork and sculpture, including lighting, camera setup, and positioning. Participants will learn how to create clean, accurate images that translate well across websites, applications, and professional materials.

The workshop also introduces accessible approaches to editing, with a focus on achieving consistent color, balance, and overall presentation without overly complex or expensive equipment.

Designed to be straightforward and immediately applicable, this session prioritizes clarity over complexity—helping artists better represent their work in a professional context.

Ideal for artists preparing documentation for portfolios, submissions, websites, and archives.

Led by artist and photographer Maha Bazzari.

Maha Bazzari is a California-based multidisciplinary artist and photographer, and the founder of studio MAHA. Her practice spans photography, painting, and design. She runs a commercial photography business and is hired by artists and organizations to document artwork, exhibitions, architecture, and interiors. Her clients include MCASD, the Oceanside Museum of Art, and the La Jolla Historical Society. She is also a professor of photography at the San Diego Community College District.

This workshop is part of Campana Studios’ Artist Business Development Workshop Series, a multi-part program offering accessible professional development for visual artists.

This workshop is provided with the support of the Cultural Arts Department of the City of Carlsbad.
