- Please join us as we launch a new series just for SLPAs!
- Our goal is to foster a supportive, SLPA-centered learning community. For that reason, participation is limited to Speech-Language Pathology Assistants and SLPA students. We appreciate the understanding and support of our SLP colleagues as we create this dedictaed space.
Workshop: "Articulation Therapy-Success with Sounds for Elementary School Children"
- Learn together with other SLPAs about providing articulation therapy to elementary-aged children. Focus on common challenging sounds. Get tips for increasing success and building engagement.
- 3 hours of continuing professional development credit
Includes the Career & Community Connections Fair
Meet with and/or get information from employers, professional associations, and other organizations in our industry. We are inviting recruiters and professional organizations, for a chance to connect with opportunities in our community.
Speaker Information
Mia Del Rosario, C-SLPA will be sharing her experiences and insights for providing articulation therapy to children, targeting the more difficult sounds.
Mia is a proud graduate of the PCC SLPA program. She is state-licensed and ASHA-certified as an Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. She has been serving the local community for many years.
Learning Objectives
Learners will:
- Review intervention options for speech sound difficulty such as modeling, direct instruction, shaping, and use of multi-sensory input and feedback
- Identify 3 or more treatment techniques for articulation of difficult speech sounds including /s, z, l, r, vocalic-r/
- Explore therapy activities to promote engaging sessions for articulation with elementary children
