About this Event
Join ActiveSGV for our Rivers Ride. For this event we will bike along the Arroyo Seco and LA Rivers bike paths and learnin about efforts to protect the San Gabriel Mountains for future generations!
THIS EVENT IS A MULTIMODAL EVENT: BIKE & TRAIN RIDE . The ride will start at the Station Square Park (913 Meridian Ave, South Pasadena) adjacent to the South Pasadena A Line Station, from there we will traverse the Arroyo Seco Bikeway and then connect over to the LA River Bike Path. We will conclude the ride at the LA Historic Park /Chinatwon A Line Station, where folks can ride with us back to South Pasadena via train or leave from there.
This is a one-way bike ride with a return trip via the Metro A Line. Please bring a TAP card (or money for fare) for this ride.
You will need to BRING YOUR OWN BIKE for this ride! We will not provide bikes for this ride.
Pre-registration is required for all participants. If you are attending with other family members, each person must be registered separately to attend.
Date: Saturday, November 8, 2025
Timeline:
- 8:00 AM - Meet at Station Square Park
- 8:30 AM - Roll
- 10:30 AM - Arrive at North Atwater Bridge
- 11:30 AM- Arrive LA Historic Park - Raffle
- 12:05 PM - Take train back from China Town Station
- 12:20 PM - Arrive back at South Pasadena Station
Start/End: Station Square Park (913 Meridian Ave, South Pasadena)
Route: Approx. 18.32 mile long with 447 ft of elevetation gain - mostly on river paths but some street riding.
Experience Level: Intermediate
Getting There: Metro, Foothill Transit
Parking: Plenty of on-street parking is aviable but be mindful of parking restrictions
What to Bring:
- A TAP CARD!!!
- A helmet is required if under 18
- A functional bicycle or wheeled device (highly recommended with gears)
- Additional cash/credit to purchase food
- Water Bottle filled with water!
- Bikes with training wheels are not permitted, but children are welcome to attend if pulled in a trailer or on-bike child seat.
*** PLEASE NOTE: All ride participants must sign a waiver to participate. A parent or legal guardian must sign for and accompany any minors under 18 participating in the ride. ***
**RAIN POLICY: In the event of a rain forecast, we will contact you 24 hours in advance to confirm or cancel the ride**
