NASA has announced that the launch of the Artemis II mission will be on April 1 at 6:24 p.m. ET! This will be the first mission to send people into the Moon's orbit since 1972! The Museum of Arts and Sciences will show live coverage of this historic event starting at noon in the museum's auditorium. Find out more at NASA's website: https://www.nasa.gov/mission/artemis-ii/During the regularly scheduled planetarium show times that day, a special showing of the program "Forward to the Moon" will describe the years of planning that has led up to this moment. Then the show will share plans to continue humanity's presence on the moon continuously in the years to come.
Special activities will be included in museum admission until 5 p.m., and admission will be by donation afterward. The museum's exhibits will close at 5 p.m. If NASA decides to reschedule the launch again, this event will be rescheduled for the new launch date.
