Ventura knows a good thing! Gather. Listen. Feel good. Spend an afternoon with four amazing artists from the Studio Channel Islands Art Center and four wonderful poets from the Ventura County Poetry Festival. Listen as they come together to have a fascinating conversation about their creative process, featuring poems inspired by the artists’ work. You will also hear original guitar music inspired by several of the art pieces.

Artists Mollie Doctrow, Mary McGill, Judith Hopkins, and Julia Pinkham will show their woodcuts, sculptures, and paintings and share insights about their creative process from a spark of inspiration to a finished work of art.
Poets Crystal A.C. Salas, Phil Taggart, Jennifer Kelley, and Ron Fullerton will read poems inspired by their favorite art pieces by the four artists, followed by a conversation about the special relationship between the art of images and the art of words.
