About this Event
Do you like zines or supporting independent artists? Are you interested in learning how to play tabletop miniature games?
This event will blend the two ideas, offering independent artists selling/distributing zines while others build miniatures and play a game demo of the roleplay and miniature game FLAMES OF ORION.
"In the dark and distant future, the stars have smoldered and burned. Everything that once stood in the Orion sector has descended into darkness. Those who have not fled the sector now fight over what little remains—or have simply gone mad from the emptiness around them. Blood is spilled over the meaningless. In a time when humanity should be united, they have become the greatest threat to themselves. Thus, the age of man has ended, left in the ashes of the flames of Orion. All will trudge forward into oblivion in their mechanical tombs. An age of darkness has begun."
FLAMES OF ORION is a dark future miniatures war game where players pilot giant mechanized combat machines, set in the Orion system. Renegades, outlaws, and mercenaries litter the sector. Years have passed, and the planets in this sector sit heavy with shadows and foreboding.
Players will control a Combat Unit consisting of 4 mechs and battle over the remnants of fading planets. Systems overheating, missiles flying and engines going critical. Fast paced, deadly and a core system designed for campaign play.
Beginners encouraged and welcomed. Materials will be provided, but donations of bits or tools are accepted to create more events like this. Free and open to all to attend. The first half (approximately) will be building your miniatures, followed by the game demo where you will team up against others in the event.
The art market will highlight local artists, comic makers, illustrators, and more.
