This talk takes us on a tour around Scotland exploring all things Deco; we’ll admire the best Moderne buildings which embraced the style, lounge at the lido, visit The Empire Exhibition, take streamlined transport and wonder at the cinema. Jackie Sangster is a Learning Manager within the Learning & Inclusion team at Historic Environment Scotland; working across Scotland to bring people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to discover, explore, understand and be inspired by our historic environment. Mostly Jackie works with digital records from the HES archives. She visits lifelong learners doing outreach with community groups, older people, reminiscence workshops and archives-based sessions for the dementia community. As a former teacher, she endeavours to make such engagement as creative as possible, to allow people to explore heritage in a meaningful and enjoyable way.
