We invite you to Art & Poetry Talk in Time of War — an evening that brings together discussion and poetry, connecting voices from Ukraine and across Europe.
The event brings together participants working across literature, cinema, curatorial practice, and cultural production. Through conversation and readings, it focuses on how art functions in times of war — how it responds to violence, carries memory, and continues under pressure.
At the centre of the discussion are questions of language and its limits: what can be expressed, what can be made visible, and what remains beyond words.
The evening features Iryna Tsilyk, a filmmaker and writer exploring everyday life shaped by war; Irena Karpa, a writer and musician working between Kyiv and Paris; Radek Lipka, working at the intersection of cinema and cultural programming; Marta Czyż, a curator focusing on art, archives, and the representation of conflict; and Marion Guth, a producer working across film and immersive formats.
The discussion is followed by poetry readings by Philippe Schockweiler, where the themes of the evening take on a more concentrated form.
Together, the event reflects a broader reality: culture does not stand apart from events. It exists within them — as a way to process experience, preserve memory, and remain present.
This event is part of UA Days in Luxembourg 2026 — a cultural festival dedicated to art created, preserved, and defended in times of war.
