The community is invited to gather in downtown Salt Lake City for a powerful tribute to the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the United States Armed Forces. The Armed Forces Day Concert will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Gallivan Center, located at 239 South Main Street. This free public event will feature a patriotic performance by the Choral Arts Society of Utah alongside the Utah National Guard 23rd Army Band, bringing together voices and instruments in a celebration of service, sacrifice, and national unity.
Held in recognition of Armed Forces Day and in support of the nationwide America250 initiative, the concert highlights the enduring legacy of military service and the shared responsibility of communities to honor those who defend our freedoms.
“This concert is a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country,” said Sterling Poulson, Conductor of the Choral Arts Society of Utah. “Through music, we have the privilege of expressing gratitude, honoring sacrifice, and bringing our community together in a spirit of patriotism and unity.”
In addition to the concert, attendees are encouraged to visit family support booths hosted by local organizations dedicated to serving veterans and military families. These booths will provide information on available resources, community programs, and ways to get involved in supporting those who serve.
Seating is limited. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for their comfort.
The event is made possible through the support of community partners, including the Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs, Salt Lake County, and several philanthropic organizations committed to veteran and community support.
