About the Event
Arlo’s Living Room Gallery series was created by Jasmine Arakel with the mission to bring contemporary art into publicly accessible spaces at Arlo Hotels. In partnership with guest curator, Jennie Buehler from DTR Gallery, and for a limited time, we’re thrilled to bring this curated group show to Art DC.
This event is open to the public, so feel free to bring your friends, colleagues, and open minds for a night of fine art, drinks, and discussion. A live DJ will add to the ambiance of the evening while the full bar will offer some curated drink specials.
About the Artists
Emon Surakitkoson
Emon Surakitkoson is a Thai-born artist based in Washington, D.C. Her work reflects the complexities of cultural transition, exploring themes of belonging, resilience, and shared human connection. Merging Eastern traditions with contemporary Western forms, Emon seamlessly brings both cultures into her paintings and sculptures. Deeply rooted in the crafts and visual language of her background, her practice transforms lived experience into a universal language of community and unity.
Brandon Hill
Brandon Hill lives and works in Washington, D.C. He draws on his fascination with materiality, history and the urban landscape to shape his multidisciplinary art practice. His work spans from 1” sculptures made from lego to murals that wrap full buildings. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Reginald F. Lewis Museum and he has shown across the country.
Qrcky
Qrcky's artistic journey delves deeply into the interplay between the Black diaspora and urban environments, investigating how identity is shaped by space, displacement, and cultural memory. Influenced by artists like Kara Walker and Jean-Michel Basquiat, he draws from the rhythms of music, architecture, and daily life. Deconstruction and reassembly also play a crucial role in his process, mirroring the ways in which we reconstruct our personal and communal histories.
