About this Event
Join the Portrait Gallery and Poetry Camera for a new kind of poetry workshop. Created by Kelin Carolyn Zhang and Ryan Mather, Poetry Camera is a camera that writes poems about what it sees. Using this unique technology as a platform for discussion, explore portraits in the museum's collection through a new lens. In the second half of the workshop, turn the camera inward to create a poetic portrait of yourself. Explore questions of selfhood, bias, authorship and dignity in the age of AI through the Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection. Free – Registration required. For ages 18+
The Portrait Gallery strives to provide programs that are accessible to all visitors. If you have questions about the accessibility of this program, or if you would like to request real-time captioning (CART), sign language interpretation, or any other accommodations, please contact Vanessa Jones at [email protected]. Two weeks advance notice is appreciated for requesting accommodations.
