About this Event
ARLIS South West and the University of Bristol are facilitating an exciting visit to the university’s Theatre Collection and Special Collections.
The University of Bristol Theatre Collection is one of the world’s largest archives of UK theatre and live art, featuring artworks, designs, and audio-visual sources that provide a vivid insight into the production process and life in the theatre, with particular strengths in 19th century theatre, theatre design, and theatre in the South West.
Part of the University of Bristol Arts and Social Sciences Library, the Special Collections is a vast and diverse archive dating from the 11th century to the present day, with access to sources and artefacts across literature, politics, and architecture, from the Penguin Archive to the Pinney Papers.
Part of the visit will include discussing the diversifying and decolonising of art library collections and practices.
