One of the biggest challenges after acquiring binoculars or a telescope is learning to find things in the sky. You can easily point your instrument at the moon or a bright planet, but what if you are trying to find a tiny galaxy in some remote corner of a constellation? Come to our next meeting on April 1, and walk through the essential steps for finding and viewing faint objects in binoculars and for each of the major types of telescope mounts. The presentation will include a brief overview of binocular and telescope optics, as well as a demonstration of the use of inexpensive planetarium software (Stellarium) to navigate to the far reaches of the universe!
