Absolute beginners and dancers of all levels of experience, this is your time to shine! You will learn all the basics, step by step. Whether you're starting fresh, brushing up after learning on your own, or revisiting our first series to perfect your moves, this class is for you!
We’ll build combinations and practice until you’ve got it down. By the end of our 4-week journey, you will embody about 8 moves, and on our final day, we'll combine them into a full choreography to tie it all together!
This is a super fun way to learn something new while getting your heart pumping -- so great for your body and mind, and a great mood booster! Meet new friends who love to dance, and let's get this party started!
Class is expected to sell out, so save your spot asap!

4-WEEK SERIES
Week 1
* Shuffle history. How to count music (8-counts)
* Shuffling steps: Running Man, Kickback, T-Step
* Learn 8-count combinations combining the steps
Week 2
* Review Week 1 steps & combo
* Shuffle step: Rocking T-step pattern
* Cutting shapes steps: Criss-cross, W-step
* Learn 8-counts combining all moves
Week 3
* Review Week 2 steps & combos
* Cutting shapes: Charleston, Diagonal Running Man
* Learn 8-counts combining all moves
Week 4
* More fun moves & accents to spruce up the final choreography
* Longer choreography showcasing everything you've learned!

YOUR FACILITATOR: Katia Arskaya
Katia started teaching herself to shuffle in November 2018 as a way to connect with the house music she loves. Over time, dancing became more than just a hobby—it turned into a passion for learning, growing, and getting lost in the flow. She’s practiced endlessly and learned from shuffle instructors all over the world—California, D.C., Russia, Spain, France, and Canada. Her style is a mix of shuffling and cutting shapes, with hints of hip hop, jazz funk, and waacking. A big highlight for Katia recently was performing on stage at Departed, a huge house music party in Philly. It’s exciting to see shuffle dancing grow in the city, and she’s thrilled to be part of that wave by teaching this beginner class and helping more people discover the joy of shuffling!
LOCATION
Parking in the lot and garage is free and plentiful. When you pull into the Falls Center complex, you will see a large parking lot and garage to your right. (With Founded and The Preston on your left.) Mishana studio is inside The Preston.
