The Enneagram: Showing the way from who I think I am to who I really am: It is said that the Enneagram does not put you in a box but rather shows you the box you are in and points the way out of the box. Knowledge of each Type is not enough; typology is just scratching the surface. We have to practice new ways of seeing and new ways of being to remember who we actually are! But first, we need to have the correct lens to seeing ourselves as we are right now.
As a therapist in private practice and a certified Enneagram expert, I have developed a method to help people free themselves from the box they are in (who we think the are= Enneagram Type) and move toward growth and transformation (who we are meant to be = Enneagram Essence!). By examining the unconscious motivations that drive habitual ways of thinking, feeling and behaving, we will identify methods of intervention and new practices that can free you and your clients from type's limiting hold to unlimited freedom.
This Introductory class is designed for therapists, coaches and spiritual directors who might already be using or hope to use the Enneagram more effectively when working with clients in a professional setting. It is designed to provide an overview of how practitioners can view tried and true theories of practice, such as object relations, attachment styles, self psychology, through the lens of the Enneagram's wisdom. This will be an introductory class with an invitation to join me for a deeper dive into each of the 3 centers of intelligence, the 9 different personality complexes and intervention methods and strategies in a series of classes to follow.

For years, living as an Enneagram Type 6, I was inconsciously driven by relentless fear, cowardice, a focus on threats and the defensive strategies of projection and splitting. Ironically, people saw me as strong and courageous. I presented that way on the outside; while on the inside I was a wreck. When I started to see how my Type 6 personality structure was keeping me trapped in an endless loop of struggle to "get over it ", I saw the beginning steps on the path to freedom. It takes courage to take that first step - come take the leap with me!
