About this Event
Join Innovate Carolina for Applying Human‑Centered Design in Teaching, Research, and Practice!
Human‑centered design (HCD) is increasingly used across higher education and community settings to address complex challenges in teaching, research, and practice. This interactive, hands‑on workshop is designed for faculty, staff, and community members who are curious about how to apply HCD in their own work—whether they are just getting started or looking to strengthen or scale existing efforts.
Participants will be introduced to practical HCD tools and mindsets drawn from:
- IDEO.org’s Design Kit
- Creative Reaction Lab
We will also explore how generative AI (GenAI) can support HCD activities—such as idea generation, testing, and iteration—while emphasizing that these tools are meant to complement human judgment, lived experience, and creativity, not replace them.
The session will include short activities, discussion, and concrete examples that participants can adapt immediately to their own contexts. Participants will also be introduced to Innovate Carolina and resources available to support the development and scale of their ideas to university and community audiences.
Please RSVP by Friday, May 8, 2026.
