Ceramics Artist-in-Residence Anthony Park Kascak presents the newest exhibition at Lillstreet Art Center, on view from April 4 through 25 in the Annex Gallery.
When looking at my work and social media posts, you will probably believe I’m obsessed with my dog and dogs in general— and, I am! Adopting a stinky and codependent mutt has forced me to decipher a new language of care within my everyday life and studio practice. This love of doggy-pseudoscience has intertwined with my research and interest in historical Korean ceramic forms, fortune telling cards, fantasy world-building, and personal narrative as methods of navigating the disorientation of cultural hybridity. The work within All Bark No Bite includes dogs in many variations, from ceramic and enameled copper cartomancy to sculptural work that reference historical Korean vessels and imagery.
