Annual General Meetings (AGM) are a forum for discussion about all things affecting students at the ANU. It is a primary student decision-making body and also gives your elected representatives a chance to share what they’ve been working on and answer your questions. It is additionally a forum for moving constitutional and regulation change.
* When and where will the meeting be held?
AGM will start at the usual time of 6.15pm on 6 May 2026. The meeting will be held in [TBC] and also on Zoom.
* Who can come?
General meetings are open to all students at the ANU - ALL students get to vote! You can come along to [TBC] or attend on zoom! All ANU students can create a Zoom account using the ANU corporate license (https://anu.zoom.us/signin). If you have any questions about the use of Zoom or would like to ensure that your requirements for the meeting are met, please get in touch with the General Secretary, Malakai King via [email protected].
* Who can submit motions? What are the deadlines for them?
All students at the ANU student can propose, move, and second motions at the ANUSA AGM. All students can vote on these motions. If you wish to submit a motion for consideration, please email it to the General Secretary ([email protected]) by 5pm on Wednesday, 29 April.
If you want to submit a motion, here are some helpful tips!
- Submit with time before the deadline! This allows any changes that need to be made to be made before the meeting.
- Think backwards! Start with the goal for what you want to achieve, and then write a motion to support that intended goal.
- Consult people with relevant experience, which can include but are not limited to the ANUSA Executive, Department Officers, ANUSA-affiliated Club Presidents or committee members, Residential Hall leaders, or former ANUSA representatives who have done similar work.
- Make sure your motion is within the powers of the meeting to which you’re submitting it for consideration, doesn’t contradict the ANUSA Constitution or Regulations, complies with ACT and Federal laws, is not defamatory towards any individuals, and is clear and concise!
Reach out to the General Secretary via email ([email protected]) if you need advice!
