Transnational Threats: The EU AML Regulation as a Weapon Against Mafia Networks, Organized Crime Structures, and Terrorist Financing NetworkAbout this Event
Anniversary Conference of ACAMS Germany Chapter e.V. on 6 May 2026 in Berlin
To mark the 10th anniversary of ACAMS Germany Chapter e.V., we are pleased to invite you, together with Mafia Nein Danke e.V. and Counter Terrorism Project Germany to the conference
Transnational Threats: The EU AML Regulation as a Weapon Against Mafia Networks, Organized Crime Structures, and Terrorist Financing Networks — Lessons from Italy
The event will focus on the question of which measures can truly be effective in the fight against organized crime. Particular attention will be given to Italy’s experience in combating mafia structures, the role of the new European AML framework, the recent German Action Plan to fight organized crime and the lessons that can be drawn for Germany and Europe. Recent developments have pushed terrorist organisations to rely more heavily on criminal sources of funding and organised crime structures - something we also need to monitor closely.
The conference will bring together perspectives from civil society, policymakers, law enforcement, supervisors and practitioners, and will provide room for an informed exchange on practical approaches to strengthening integrity and resilience against mafia and criminal networks.
The conference is supported by the Embassy of Italy in Berlin and will take place at the premises of the Embassy.
