This will happen only once! On December 2nd, on the exact date of the 100th anniversary of Else Marie Pade, join us for a grand celebration of the grandmother of electronic music - in DR Koncerthuset.
This will be, amongst many other things, a unique opportunity to
- hear Else Marie Pade’s very first purely electronic work ‘Syv Cirkler’ – played on stage from her own original Lyrec reel-to-reel tape recorder
- join in in the singing of the traditional birthday song (the one with the instruments!) – but with tape loops, ring modulators, and tone generators.
- hear the incredible story of how Pade was captured by the Gestapo during World War II and carved notes into the prison cell wall – through the music of the Dybfølt duo and jazz singer Kira Martini
- enjoy ‘A Game for Cello’ accompanied by visuals inspired by video game graphics
- rejoice in some of Pade’s choral music performed by Vokalensemblet Vigdis
- delight in parts of ‘Svævninger’, performed by sound artist and composer Jacob Kirkegaard (who created and released the piece in collaboration with Pade)
All this in the marvellous surroundings of DR Koncerthuset.
