Film and Conversation"Animals in War" is a Ukrainian fiction anthology composed of seven short films based on real wartime stories. Created by Ukrainian and international filmmakers and produced by Oleh Kokhan (SOTA Cinema Group), the film places animals at the center of the narrative — living beings who suffer alongside humans during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The project was launched in 2022 and later joined by actor Sean Penn, appearing symbolically for a $1 fee in a segment directed by Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi.
The screening is also part of Ukraine Culture Now Association’s ongoing initiative Ukraine Film Now to present Ukrainian cinema, supported by Region Stockholm.
The film is in Ukrainian and English with English subtitles.
