Ritualistic dance event of shapeshifters!
About this Event

A new dancing and spiritual experience organised by PsycheNautics in collaboration with the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre.

In this event, we'll channel the energies of different animals to create a ritualistic dancing experience that goes beyond our identities as humans and let us tap into wild energies to enjoy dancing.

We are dancing as 7 typical Scottish Animals. We'll start with a brief introduction to them and their symbolic meaning.

Then, an explanation of the rules of this experience, part ritual & part game, there's a bit to explain.

To start the ritual, each one will be given an animal mask, randomly, to channel that archetype/spirit in the experience.

The only thing left is... dancing free! more or less ?

Important things to consider:
  • Bring loose and fresh clothing, it can get REALLY warm.
  • Bring water with you.
  • If you use glasses and contact lenses, it might be smart to bring the contacts on. But if you only use glasses, that is fine too; masks are quite big.

Review of a Participant in one of our tests:

I have only just sat down to write in some feedback on the Animal Trance test session. I am excited to see how the rituals continue to progress. Practices like this provide a fantastic root system for expression, and I enjoy seeing it become organised in a space outside of theatre, overseen by a spiritually professional eye. From what I observed, Sunay has a good sense of place and timing coupled with an accepting yet structured approach that is ideal for ritual conduction.
