Anyone who has ever met Angela knows that her musical personality, so authentically reminiscent of the roaring ‘20s and swinging ‘40s, comes from her genuine love and connection to the genre. Indeed the title of this concert, as well as her 2022 debut album, are an obvious hint to her love of classic cinema and the music that emerged from it - which is not to say that she doesn’t put her own spin on it. Having captivated audiences in concert halls from Paris to Beijing, the singer behind some of our favourite Maltese bands (Swing Nuages, Blue Tangerine, The Honeymakers) lives to perform with breathtaking spontaneity and storytelling at the core of what she does.Together with the original lineup from the record, Angela will be revisiting some of the gorgeous arrangements and renditions of jazz standards from her “Funny Face” album, plus a number of picks that will leave us spellbound in our seats.
