A celebration of bravery, love and strength, Carlo Diacono’s dramatic opera L’Alpino follows an Italian mountain soldier’s heroic journey through perilous mountains, facing battles and loss, highlighting the Alpini troups’ courage and resilience. The MPO performs this work of melodic beauty and emotional depth under the baton of Michael Laus. The music blends traditional operatic elements with evocative orchestration that captures the grandeur of the Italian Alps and the intense experiences of the Alpini soldiers, fused together with a unique Maltese and Italian influence to create a moving and memorable composition.
