ABOUT ANELIYA
Born in Voronezh, Russia, pianist Aneliya Novikova began her musical journey at age five at Voronezh State Musical College, where she participated in a specialized program for musically gifted children. Aneliya has received highly professional training both in Russia and the United States and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Instrumental Collaborative Piano Performance here at Lynn, in the studio of Professor Lisa Leonard.
Aneliya exhibits a deep love for music performance as a solo pianist, chamber musician, and collaborating with instrumentalists and singers. At age 21, she received the First Prize Diploma in the Voronezh Academy of Arts Competition, and since then she has earned multiple awards and honors including recognition at the Ars Flores Competition in Miami, where she performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with symphony orchestra. Additionally, she was a winner of the 2023 Lynn Concerto Competition, performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 alongside the Lynn Philharmonia, and she received the Best Piano Realization award in the 2025 Lynn Concerto Competition. Enthusiastic about musical theater, Aneliya has also performed keyboard in multiple productions including Beauty and the Beast, 42nd Street, Porgy and Bess, and Les Misérables. Aneliya has also previously played celesta with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra on various recordings. She is a gifted composer in her own right and draws inspiration from Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Yann Tiersen, and John Murphy. Occasionally, she can also be heard showcasing her skills on the melodica.
