ABOUT MANUELA
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, violinist Manuela Wanumen Jiménez began her musical studies at Fundación UniMúsica. She has studied with distinguished teachers including Fabio Santana, Richard Biaggini, Juan Carlos Higuita, Leonidas Cáceres, and currently, Andrés Cárdenes here at Lynn, where she also serves as the String Department Graduate Assistant.
Manuela has won top prizes in competitions such as the Serie de los Jóvenes Intérpretes of the Banco de la República and the Concurso Jóvenes Solistas of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Cali. She has performed as a soloist at major venues including Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán and has appeared with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, Filarmónica Joven de Colombia, and the Palm Beach Symphony.
Her chamber music experience includes collaborations through festivals such as the Gingold Chamber Music Festival and master classes with the Kronos Quartet, Cuarteto Latinoamericano, and others. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Conservatorio de Música de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where she graduated with the highest GPA in her class.
Beyond music, Manuela is passionate about vegan advocacy, reading, and spending time with her family and her cat.
