1,000km "Charity Ride" – Albany Area -- 11th November 2023Welcome to the fourth (and last for this year) 1,000 km Charity Ride in 2023.
Due to popular demand, we have doubled the departures of our 1,000 km Charity Rides for 2023 and will cover a large area of WA following on from previous years.
The rides often see our participants cover around 1,100 kms (some a little more) for each ride. The total is always a little more by the time riders add their kilometres to get to and from their homes for the start and finish point.
As it’s a charity ride, riders will be asked for a registration fee of $ 25.00 per bike. Payments must be made at least one week prior to the ride and no rider will be accepted on the day. Each rider is responsible for their own fuel, food and drinks on the journey. Please ensure your bike and you are ready for the ride and comfortable to do this distance.
NB:
The ride will be completed as per normal road speeds and will be fairly non stop.
Food, Drinks and comfort stops will be taken as we stop for Fuel and there won’t be a long lunch break.
There will not be any support vehicle following the group. It is recommended that you have Roadside Assistance.
We would also ask you to have Personal and Bike Insurance in case of any major issues to your bike or yourself.
All riders and pillions ride at their own risk.

Meeting Point No 1: BP Service Station, Cnr Scarborough Beach Road and Charles Street, North Perth
Meeting Time: 05.15/05.30am Rider Briefing: 05.45am Departure: 06.00am
Meeting Point No 2: Dome Café, 2810 Albany Highway, Kelmscott
Meeting Time No 2: 06.30am (departing when main group arrives)
Cost: $25.00 per bike (Includes Rider Patch and Certificate—forwarded after the ride.)
This ride will take us to Williams, Kojonup, Mt Barker, Albany, Denmark, Walpole, Pemberton, Nannup, Busselton, Bunbury, Mandurah and home. A grand total of 1,050 kms.
Our 1,000 km Charity Rides will be held approximately every 3 months in 2023 and be limited to just 25 riders on each one. (No riders will be accepted on day of departure). All riders must register at least on week prior to departure (providing there’s still vacancies) and pay the registration fee. All riders travel at their own risk.
The rides take approximately 12 hours in the saddle and we will allow 14 hours to complete the ride. Stops are short for fuel, light refreshments and comfort. Unfortunately, there will be no long lunch stops because we really don’t have the time.
NB: You must be confident you can personally do the ride and have your bike and yourself ready to go.
Please ensure you have roadside assistance and personal insurance in case of any breakdowns or accidents. Your ride leader will have all the details of fuel stops and food stops and keep the ride running smoothly.
