Dr. Eiden is the County Editor of Victoria County History and has been working with VCH academics and volunteers to research and compile Volume XIII on Harwich & Dovercourt.
The talk will cover what we really know about the origins of Harwich in the 12th and 13th centuries and move on to how the town developed in the 14th and 15th centuries.
The very beginnings of the town are shrouded in mystery but Herbert will guide us through the fact and conjecture and move on to how the town developed, the driving forces, the characters and events.
The talk will last 45 to 50 minutes so there will be plenty of time for Q&A.
