SomoS Arts presents "The Chatroom," the physical exhibition chapter of "The Chatroom & The Dollhouse," curated by Babytooth Collective. The exhibition translates online modes of self-display into the gallery: avatars, profile logics, and algorithmically conditioned image habits reappear as sculptural proposals and performative scenarios.
Visitors encounter a setting where screen-born habits become tangible. Collectible objects and charm-like details echo the logic of trinkets and wearable tokens that gather emotional value over time. Here, that attachment is measured against the pressures of visibility: self-curation, constant feedback, and images optimized for attention.
"The Chatroom & The Dollhouse" exists in two linked spaces. The online counterpart, "The Dollhouse" (Nov 2025–Mar 2026), functions as a poetic web environment where visitors collect tokens that mutate through AI-based translation and image-to-image processes, gradually losing proportion and turning into dreamlike echoes. Access to "The Chatroom" is structured around a collecting-and-unlocking logic, making the transition from online to onsite part of the work’s dramaturgy.
