Learn some great techniques from Photographer Len van Bruggen IV including 'secret strategies' and tricks of the trade in this stimulating workshop.We start the day with a thorough presentation over coffee at the studio, before hitting the streets and putting these ideas into practice. Exposure, focusing and composition and setting your camera for ideal responsiveness; digital workflow; editing and sharing/presenting will all be covered. There will be some structured shooting , but largely will be improvised as we walk around and you will receive lots of individual coaching from Len.
Class content:
Learn how compose in an every day street scene to create unique/dynamic images.
How to look and understand the components of a great street image.
Learning to be more comfortable shooting strangers and learning how to be 'sneaky' when necessary.
Getting more comfortable with your camera's settings and the technical aspects of street photography: equipment, composition, exposure, light and focus.
Learn how to photograph safely in dynamic situations and how to engage (or disengage)t effectively with the public, security guards, police etc.
Discussion of some of the key legal and ethical aspects of street photography.
Learn 'creative' workflow and post-production techniques. (Mostly) using Adobe Lightroom.
