"Sickle Cell Disease.... Let's Talk About It" Learning Lab

Sickle Cell Partners of the Carolinas (SCPOC), a non-profit 501 c (3) organization, will sponsor a Learning Lab, “Sickle Cell Disease… Let’s Talk About It” on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10AM to 1PM at the University City Regional Library in Charlotte, North Carolina.

This Learning Lab will raise awareness and educate the community about Sickle Cell Disease which affects thousands of people across the globe.

SCPOC expects to host patients, families and community members for this Learning Lab that aims to inform, educate, and increase advocacy on behalf of patients and families affected by Sickle Cell Disease, a hereditary illness.

The Learning Lab, "Sickle Cell Disease…. Let’s Talk About It” will include the following topics:

➢ Living your best life with Sickle Cell Disease

➢ Focus on continuing care for adult patients living with Sickle Cell Disease

➢ Importance of transition for families of teenage patients living with Sickle Cell Disease

➢ Current cure paths (Bone Marrow Transplant and Gene Therapy) and how to get there

➢ Fellowship for the patient population and caregivers
