Do you want to create an even safer and more compassionate space for children and teens living with grief? This workshop teaches an understanding of how children or teens grieve differently than adults and in doses, whether quietly or loudly. Certain learning objectives will be more emphasized depending on the audience members and the population they serve. Learning Objectives:
Professionals will learn unique ways children and teens internalize and express grief (grief tasks), different from adults.
Professionals will learn to recognize normal grief responses (reactions) in children and teens.
Professionals will learn and understand how our brain development is impacted in bereaved children and teens.
Professionals will gain knowledge of practical, supportive tools and techniques, grief activities, and grief resources to use when supporting a grieving child or teen.
